Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:Under the direction of the Assistant Director, Research & Strategic Initiatives, the READ Projects Officer performs duties related to the initial development, and support where needed, of all research and designated program specific activities within the READ Initiative. The incumbent is responsible for collaborating with the Grant Developer and Writer, where appropriate, to assist with developing and organizing work related to all funded projects. The incumbent is also responsible for developing, monitoring, and evaluating initiatives and projects led by READ or in collaboration with stakeholders. The READ Projects Officer monitors, coordinates, and reports on project timelines and progress for all designated READ activities and coordinates relevant administrative processes with the operations team.Qualifications:The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

  • Experience using various project management tools and programs and/or research technologies to support projects.
  • Experience working in accessibility related areas or formal education related to issues of disabilities and accessibility.
  • Experience developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge mobilization skills either through applied academic or research work, or through employment experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent writing skills and experience producing reports in a work or educational environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with high productivity under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working in an office or team environment.
Education and Experience:The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
  • Completion of an honour’s degree.
  • Minimum five years’ experience developing and supporting projects and programs.
