Job Description

General Posting InformationPOSITION: Patient Registration ClerkDEPARTMENT: Patient RegistrationCONDITIONS: Part-time (0.40 FTE)HOURS: Approximately 30.0 Bi-weekly HoursSHIFTS:Days / Evenings / Nights / Weekends7.5 Hours per shift(subject to change)WAGE RANGE:Scale Minimum MaximumNONU $23.24/hr $27.88/hrRESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform all Admitting/ER/MNB Scheduling/Registration, Bedboard and Census functions
  • The incumbent will utilize an automated CPI/ADT computer system to process out-patient, day surgery and in-patient admissions
  • Receive and document patients. Complete financial transactions as required.
  • Provide communication between patients, physician/nursing and support personnel
REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma
  • Completed Medical Terminology course is required
  • Knowledge of computers/general office procedures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to cope effectively with multiple demands and stressful work environment
  • Accurate typing with a minimum of 60 wpm is essential
PREFERRED:
  • Medical Office Administration diploma or related
  • Patient registration experience in a hospital or healthcare environment
