This position provides employees with an attractive compensation package, with opportunities for overtime, and in - depth training so that you may grow into multiple different areas of traffic control. This is an excellent opportunity to jump start your career in a growing industry!The Position:As a Road Patroller, your main objective is to ensure a safe work environment by maintaining traffic control devices and signage on job sites. This includes routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs. This position may require you to work day shifts, swing shifts, nights or weekends.Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the traffic control devices and signage on site which includes, routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs as required or requested by the Contractor
  • Install, remove and relocate of traffic devices and signs
  • Provide coverage of the Project site as directed and monitor traffic closures
  • Coordination with Emergency Services to ensure safe access and passage through a work zone
  • Provide Incident Management
  • Perform emergency roadway repairs (potholes, washouts etc.) Repair materials to be furnished by the Contractor.
  • Assist the Lane Closure crews with the implementation and removal of traffic lane closures during busy periods
  • Assist Segment supervisors with daily requirements, special requests.
  • Complete daily video logs and report deficiencies on a daily basis.
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:
  • G Class Driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
  • Comfortable driving and reversing with trailers attached to vehicles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to clearly and concisely complete all required documents daily
  • Ability to provide strategic solutions when challenges arise
  • Ability to lift regularly up to 60 pounds
  • Ability to cope with varying weather conditions
  • Strong sense of awareness of surroundings - construction, traffic, cyclists and pedestrians
