The part-time position youd be applying to wont simply be working one section of the store. Since we are a small business with under 10 staff members you will be learning all aspects of the store. This includes greeting customers as soon as they enter the store and letting them know of any promotions/asking if they need help with anything, working the cash, pricing new items from consignor drop-offs, creating consignment accounts and explaining our contract/getting new consignors to sign it, uploading to our Shopify/online shopping website, posting new items to our social media, providing customer service when the opportunity arises, and many more little tasks that are done on a daily. You will always have something to do at this job as the tasks are never-ending!We are looking for someone to join our team who is:1: Outgoing (engages in conversation easily, answers phones, able to help answer customer/consignor questions with ease)2: Initiative (sometimes you may be working alone at points during the day that is less busy. This means you will be in charge of your own time management and keeping yourself organized and busy. You must have the initiative to help the store progress and insuring all-important duties are fulfilled.3: Tech-savvy (you need to be able to use a computer and have a basic understanding of google drive, google sheets, Gmail, and other basic computer uses such as searching for comparison prices, recalls, etc. Must have a phone that has a good camera and able to download Shopify apps ((Shopify, SimpleConsign Photo)). Experience using and posting on Instagram/Facebook.)4: Fast learner (this job has many tasks that you will be learning and doing on a daily. You may not always do the same tasks each day, but youll still need to know them all.)5: Knowledgeable about brand name items & products (we have a pricing system but knowing which items are high/low end is important as you will be the one choosing the prices for the items. Knowing about maternity items and toys/baby products is also an asset. Our customers will be coming to you with any questions they may have).Open availability: (we need someone who is able to work with open availability, specifically mornings and weekends. We will not be hiring someone who isnt available on the weekends/ only Monday-Friday as we are small staffed and need to take turns booking off. You also must be living in Ottawa/ not going away for school come September. This is a permanent position.
