Fujitsu wants innovators like you!Req ID:15179Position: SDN APPLICATIONS MANAGERWhat will you do at FujitsuVirtuora Network/Mobility Controller (VNC/VMC) is a platform for comprehensive, adaptable, highly modular suite of software products that enable you to build and grow a virtualized, programmable network in several domains. VNC software utilizes micro services architecture and leverages open source technologies to provide complete suite of SDN controller functionality, i.e. control, planning and design, operations and management, service fulfillment and assurance functions. We are looking for an experienced SDN Application Software Manager who is an expert in leading a team of talented engineers to architect, design & deliver world class SDN applications, used by the largest telecom service providers in the world.JOB DESCRIPTIONResponsibilities:

• Manage and lead the SDN applications software development team(s) to deliver features in the areas of Multi-layer Path Computation Engine (PCE), Service Orchestration, Service Discovery, Service Data Modelling, Equipment & Service Planning.
• Owns and Lead Layer 0 (DWDM), Layer 1 (OTN), Layer 2 (Packet) SDN while assist with 5G/O-RAN/ORAN-SC Mobility application development on a SDN controller/Orchestration System.
• Accountable for as-planned execution and quality of the applications developed.
• Participate in planning, requirement analysis, design, development and maintenance of multiple software components of SDN controller to meet customer’s needs.
• Manage the SDN Application software suite working with Product Managers, providing end-to-end operational automation, service orchestration and network programmability.
• Group management of Application software team: direction, delegation, talent development, performance reviews, expense management.
• Provide estimation and budget inputs based on product roadmap.
• Candidates for this position should have very strong technical, analytical, SW design & Architecture skills and be capable of driving features end-to-end on multiple product lines.
• Liaison with in Scrum & System test teams/management to ensure product quality improvements, quality status & KPI reporting
• Participate in Customer Issues investigation, status and RCA reporting
• Participate in the Open ROADM Multi-Source Agreement forum technical discussions and solve complex service modelling and vendor interoperability challenges.
• Participate in Telecommunication/Data Communication domain modelling using standards like ITU-T, ONF, MTNM, O-RAN/ORAN-SC/5G

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of Experience in product development of Transport/Mobility Network management solution – Layer 0 (DWDM), Layer 1 (OTN), Layer 2 (Packet) technologies and 5G/O-RAN Mobility. Minimum of 4 years of experience managing software development teams.
• Strong knowledge and experience of Agile software development methodology
• Experience in at least 2-3 full cycle development of Network Management Systems products
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for regular interactions with internal and external teams
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Project/program management skills
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Expertise in Core Java, Threads, Collections and Data structures
• Expertise in OOAD, Design patterns, UML modelling
• Hands-on experience with Open Daylight (ODL) and SDN controller development
• Hands-on experience of various communication protocols such as Netconf, TL1 and modelling tools such as Yang, Json, XML
• Good knowledge with databases Oracle/MySQL/Cassandra
• Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, HDFS, ElasticSearch, Spark and distributed big-data systems
• Expertise in designing and developing REST APIs
• Exposure to messaging frameworks like Kafka and Java related frameworks like OSGI, Spring, Blueprint
• Experience in unit test, continuous integration (CI/CD) frameworks such as Junit, Jenkins, postman
• Familiarity with Git, Gerrit, JIRA, Familiar with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Have demonstrated good technical leadership ability, lead end-to-end feature development

Nice to Have:

• Exposure to 5G/O-RAN /ORAN-SC Mobility network management
• Exposure to graph data structures/database, path computation algorithm implementation like dijkstra, yen
