Are you ready to suit upWe are looking for security guards to work parttime at Carlingwood Shopping Center as a member of the GardaWorld team, your primary role is to ensure the safety and security of client assets, tenants and visitors to the assignment area in a professional and courteous manner.What you ll be doingPerform patrols on foot, by bicycle and by carProvide excellent customer service to everyone on the propertyWork closely with the mall services as well as with the emergency services when appropriateAssist visitors, guests and the renter's staff with respect to safety, requests for directions, escorts, package transportation, lost vehicles, etc.Apply property rules and regulations in a fair and responsible mannerWrite daily and incident reportsIntervene during medical emergencies and provide first aidBe prepared to respond to situations of crime, urgency and disturbance occurring at the mallFacilitate access to authorized persons to restricted areasDirect car traffic on the property, if necessaryMonitor closed circuit cameras (if applicable) to ensure proper operation of the shopping centerAnswer and follow up on phone calls received by the security serviceMonitor the fire alarm system and fire extinguisher systemWhat we offerCompetitive wagesDiverse benefits planPositive and dynamic environmentOn-the-job paid trainingOpportunity for advancement in the security industryComplete uniformWhat we re looking forPolice Foundations diploma or equivalentPossession of a valid provincial security guard licenceFirst aid and CPR certificationAvailability to work rotating shiftsStrong customer service skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsAvailable to work shift work, including weekends and overnight as requiredAbility to exercise sound judgment under stressful situationsAbility to work independently as well as part of a team environmentKnowledge of criminal, provincial and federal laws as they pertain to the security industrycommit to a 3 week rotational schedule that is as follows:14:00 to 22:00 week 1 and 2 and 22:00 to 06:00 for week 3
