  • Always monitor and ensure compliances with any and all Acts, Codes and Regulations, (i.e. Building and Fire Codes, Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC), Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA), etc.
  • Always comply with St. Patrick’s Home of Ottawa’s policies and procedures and ensure the Mission, Vision and Values, building standards and efficiencies are maintained;
  • Perform and complete all assigned dutiesamp; responsibilities with minimum supervision;
  • Work closely with Building Operations staff to ensure seamless building operations;
  • Be familiar with all aspects of the building operations systems and equipment such as, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life-safety and security, etc.
  • Deliver and/or supply: audits, cleaning, inspections, labour, painting, preventative maintenance, repairs, refurbishment and testing, etc. to ensure St. Pat’s maintains a clean, safe and secure environment that meets or exceeds compliances with legislated requirements;
  • Complete checklists, documentation, forms and log books, etc. Take readings from equipment and or systems such as, the emergency generator, supply-air and water temperatures, pressure readings, etc.
  • Maintains an inventory of maintenance parts and supplies.
  • Ensure your emergency contact information is always current. Continually review Emergency Procedures and Fire Safety Plan, and be prepared to execute your roles for each code.
  • Conducts monthly fire and emergency procedures drills;
  • Ensure service contracts are enforced, service levels are achieved, and contractors are supervised while on-site;
  • Carry out or execute resident, staff and management requests for services, in a timely manner and assist in solving problems as required. Generate work orders and/or record all parts and services provided in WorxHub.
  • Respond to after hour calls and or emergencies, as required.
  • Respond and assist with seasonal building requirements, including snow clearing, seasonal decorating, landscaping maintenance, etc.
  • Always maintain a clean and tidy shop. Maintain and monitor equipment and supply inventories, notify Manager when supplies require replenishment;
  • Complete any other related duties, as directed by the Manager, Facilities Operation.
