Job Description

VCA Canada Pretoria Animal Hospital located in Ottawa ON., is currently welcoming a dependable and caring full time (30-40 hours per week) Veterinary Technician Assistant - Client Care Coordinator. The successful candidate will share our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our loyal clientele and the highest quality care to their hospitalized pets. Also included are reception duties.

  • Assist veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments
  • Create a warm and welcoming environment for our patient and pet parents
  • Create a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients
  • General housekeeping duties; cleanliness of reception area, pet holding areas, and common areas
  • Compassion and nurturing attitude
  • Willingness to learn more regarding; pet nutrition, veterinary services, updated medical office procedures, and assisting the veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and adapt to changing situations
  • Take initiative and work independently
  • Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting pets and pet parents at ease and creating a welcoming environment
  • Ability to answer a multiline phone system and track and book appointments effectively
  • Placing outbound calls to pet parents for follow-up and future appointment bookings
  • Respond and manage email correspondence; clients, referring veterinarians & internal office messages
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Admitting and discharging pet patients
