Job Description

Status: Full-time, permanentReports to: Managing DirectorLanguage(s): EnglishLocation: Remote, preference for candidates based in CanadaSalary range: Up to $185,000 CADDeadline for Applications: November 25, 2022HISTORY IN THE MAKINGImagine a fund as revolutionary and resourceful as feminist movements themselves. Sustainable. Scalable. Shifting resources and power to women far into the future. We are the Equality Fund. Powered by Canada and ready to change the world.Backed by a $300 million CAD contribution from the Canadian government, and inspired by the radical ambition of feminist movements, we are building the largest self-sustaining fund for women in the world. Shaped by leaders from every sector, this new funding model will harness gender-lens investing and bold, multi-sector philanthropy to unlock the full potential of capital to support a gender equal future.THE OPPORTUNITYIn 2019, the Government of Canada anchored a $300M endowment with the Equality Fund to help create a truly sustainable model for funding feminist movements – using investment returns to meet our grantmaking goals and disrupt the model of typical donation-based grantmaking. As a part of this anchor investment, we engaged in a formal partnership with the Toronto Foundation (our fiscal sponsor) and RockCreek (our Outsourced Chief Investment Officer) to steward this capital.Like many endowments, the day-to-day business of our investments work is outsourced to values-aligned partners with deep knowledge and expertise in prudent investment management. But the strategy that supports those funds – why they’re invested, how, and to what end – sits with the Equality Fund.We are in the process of recruiting a Vice President, Investment Program who can provide leadership, vision, and execution of our investment strategy during this time of unprecedented transformation. If you are passionate about championing women’s rights and gender equality, are comfortable talking about investments with rigor and ease, enjoy fundraising and investor relations, and have an interest in working to support women’s organizations around the world, we encourage you to apply at this very exciting time of growth at the Equality Fund. Please note this is not an investment management role.SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES

This includes oversight of product development, led by the Investment Director.

This includes sharing insights, knowledge, and information internally and across teams, collaborating with Equality Fund staff as we co-create processes and procedures.
