This role oversees portfolio guarantee programs serving small businesses, customer and partner care as well as the small business development team. It requires a driven professional with proven strategic and inspirational leadership.Discipline Summary

  • Structures, delivers and manages the end-to-end lifecycle of solutions (export guarantees, bonding and credit insurance) that support the specific product and service needs of customers with a focus on Canadian micro and small businesses.
  • Scales and optimizes customer care capabilities to ensure new and existing customers and partners have the best possible service in relation to understanding of EDC solutions, platform navigation, service requests, process questions, suggestions, and complaints.
  • Ensures that business development activities and supporting functions for small and micro companies are meeting the needs of customers.
  • Drives the optimization of portfolio guarantee programs offered to partners.
  • Drives the use of technology to improve the overall customer experience.
  • Recommends and implements continuous improvement programs, processes, and systems to support customer and partner needs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Accountable for the customer experience of the micro and small customer segment.
  • Accountable for reaching growth objective for micro and small customer segment.
  • Accountable for the smooth delivery of portfolio guarantee programs with an appropriate balance between risk and return.
  • Provides guidance on the enhancement and development of guarantee products across the program.
  • Oversees the conception, development, execution, and evaluation of programs and processes the facilitate the delivery of effective customer and partner (customer care) services.
  • Anticipates the impact of new trends, products and current/upcoming corporate initiatives and ensures the development of policies and procedures to support effective customer and partner service.
  • Provide leadership to the team ensuring that the team members have the requisite skills, knowledge, and competencies.
  • Oversees the performance and skill/career development of team to ensure required capacity and capability to meet organizational needs.
  • Provides guidance and support for effective stakeholder interactions and the resolution of complex issues.
  • Foster a positive work culture that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates the team members.
Screening Criteria
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience.
  • Undergraduate Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or in a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial institution policies, procedures, practices as well as financial and economic fundamentals.
  • Strong credit skills, understanding business-related legal documentation, analytical skills, independent thinking, and sound judgment.
  • Excellent leadership skills demonstrated through providing sound guidance and coaching to others, positively influencing organizational culture, and high integrity.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex subject matter clearly at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to influence a wide range of audiences and establish collaborative relationships within and outside of the organization.
  • Ability to present and defend complicated and potentially delicate issues that have an important impact on business success.
  • Language requirements are bilingual. However, in the event a qualified bilingual candidate is not found, a qualified unilingual candidate will be considered. Salary Range #LI-Hybrid
  • $166,300 - $266,200, plus performance-based for both short- and long-term incentive
