The primary objective of this role is to lead the B2B and B2C content strategy development as well as manage the execution of content creation and distribution. The Director will manage a team of content creators. The Director will liaise with internal marketing colleagues and business stakeholders, leadership teams, as well as external service providers and agencies.Responsibilities:

  • Lead content strategy development for Canada Segment and identify future growth opportunities
  • Build wholistic content plan across platforms in collaboration with cross-functional partners, and ensure the creation and management of integrated content calendar
  • Take a Canada market viewpoint to identify opportunities to scale content distribution
  • Manage social media specialist, Manager, Publications and team of writers/content creators
  • Act as a key partner with digital team for development of content strategy for Manulife.ca
  • Ensure consistent editorial tone/voice
  • Guide the creation, editing and drafting of impactful content
  • Develop ideas, research, edit and draft content (white papers, emails, social media posts, marketing collateral) related to the financial and insurance industry
  • Guide the team in contributing to best-in-class writing/content creation to drive brand awareness, foster customer engagement, and generate business leads

What we are looking for:
  • Experience as a writer and head of editorial with strong knowledge of the Canadian Financial and Insurance space or extensive B2B content experience
  • Ability to write and edit short, medium and long-form content
  • Experience managing a team of writers/content creators
  • Experience writing for digital platforms/websites
  • Experience developing content strategies in support of business priorities

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
