We focus on helping organizations achieve greater risk resilience and risk management whilst building trusted relationships with key stakeholders throughout the organization.Emerging technologies and the current pandemic have significantly changed the way many organizations are doing business, making new things possible and creating new products and services. As a result, Internal Audit professionals need the dexterity to pivot quickly and to keep up with the digital pace of business and possess the knowledge to provide advice and strategic assurance in emerging business areas.Our Internal Audit team focuses on building strategic partnerships with our clients and helping them to achieve their business objectives and carry out their strategies. To successfully carry out our mandate, we work as a team to deliver solutions which will yield sustained outcomes.Purpose-led work you #39;ll be part ofAs a Risk and Governance Senior Associate, you #39;ll work as part of a PwC team, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Executing work that contributes to successful client engagements
  • Building relationships with existing and potential clients
  • Demonstrating critical thinking and the ability to bring order to unstructured problems
  • Use a broad range of analytics tools, technology, digital solutions, and techniques to extract insights from current industry or sector trends.
  • Using straightforward communication, in a structured way, when influencing and connecting with others
  • Understand how organizations drive value by managing risks, implementing controls and articulating the linkage between risk and strategy
  • Having a strong understanding of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting pertaining to NI 52-109, and/or SOX 404 and supporting the delivery of internal controls mandates
  • Supporting and co-leading internal audits (business process, regulatory, etc.) from project scoping to providing recommendations for trusted solutions
  • Providing input on policies, management standards, procedures and plans to support adequate risk and controls practices
  • Liaising with industry and professional organizations to leverage leading practices for the continuous improvement
  • Supporting business development initiatives such as preparation of proposals
  • Uphold the firm #39;s code of ethics and business conduct
Experiences and skills you #39;ll use to solve
  • Previous positive experience as a Risk Specialist, or experience with Riskamp; Controls or Internal Auditing in a large professional services environment or within an internal consulting role
  • Familiarity with strategic/annual planning, stakeholder relationship management, audit planning and execution, and all other aspects of the internal audit life cycle
  • Demonstrated understanding of the fundamentals of a value-focused internal audit program
  • Proven ability to document processes and controls, develop and execute testing programs, assess control design and operating effectiveness, and to provide recommendations for improvements
  • CPA, CFA, PMP, MBA, CIA, CRM or recognized equivalent
  • Confident with Data analytics tools e.g. excel advanced user, managing large volumes of data, data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
  • Exceptional relationship management, conflict resolution, time management, and negotiation skills
  • Strong commitment to providing excellent client service, by building and maintaining productive relationships with both internal and external clients
  • Highly capable to communicate concisely and effectively to a senior audience, both in writing and verbally
  • Ability to maintain high standard to deliver projects/assignments on time
  • Keen curiosity working in a fluid, evolving and multi-stakeholder environment
  • A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences and working alongside diverse people and perspectives
  • The successful candidate requires fluency in English as they will be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking clients, colleagues and/or stakeholders during the course of their employment with PwC Canada
