Our Quebec Risk Advisory Services (RAS) practice is looking for an experienced Senior Manager to join our team to work in the regions of Montreal and Quebec. The Senior Manager will work closely with the RAS partner group in helping manage the practice, assist with business development, mandate delivery, and overall practice development. Specifically, the successful candidate #39;s responsibilities will include:Practice Management

  • Playing a key role in managing the Quebec-based RAS practice
  • Once integrated into the practice:
  • Collaborating with other Managers/Senior Managers in acting as a coach and mentor to team members to maximize their potential
  • Assisting with defining resourcing needs and actively participate in hiring team resources
Business Development
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the RAS Quebec strategy.
  • Actively develop business opportunities and contribute to business development and sales initiatives - objectives will be set with the partner group.
Mandate delivery
  • Establish strong relationships with clients at all levels of experience, including leadership
  • Take a leadership and collaborative role in maintaining a working atmosphere that promotes learning, participate in group events and assist in the building of a team culture/environment
  • Manage teams in executing on various risk management, internal audit and other RAS engagements with a focus on IT audit and third-party assurance (SOC 1/SOC 2)
  • Manage engagements working closely with RAS team members thereby ensuring quality mandate delivery to clients - on budget, on time and with quality
  • Assist with the development of methodologies, tools, and templates
Practice Development
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the visibility and growth of the practice
  • Collaborate with the local and national team to create and execute marketing initiatives
  • Design and implement training programs to enhance the skills of team members
  • Develop and/or enhance engagement methodology, tools, templates and reports

Your experience and educationTechnical Experience
  • In-depth experience in performing audit engagements SOC 1/CSAE 3416/SOC 2 and providing related deliverables, as well as assessments in accordance with other relevant frameworks
  • Experience with SOC 1/CSAE 3416/SOC 2 scoping, readiness assessments, and AICPA/CPA Canada guidance
  • Deep understanding of Information Technology (IT) security frameworks including ISO 27001, NIST, etc.
  • Knowledge of secure system and network architecture.
  • Experience of security infrastructure design
  • Understanding of data protection and privacy regulation
  • Knowledge of or certification in any of the following would be an asset: CPA, CISSP, CISA or CISM
  • Knowledge of non-IT related Internal Audit and Internal Controls over Financial Reporting, as well as ERM would be an asset
  • You actively participate in the adoption of digital tools and strategies to drive an innovative workplace

  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and articulate security concepts to different audiences.

Quality Management
  • You identify, recommend, and are focused on effective service delivery to your clients
  • Review key deliverables to ensure scope and budget remain aligned
  • Ensure project documentation on governance is maintained, published, and retained in accordance with BDO quality auditing standards
  • Ensure BDO engagement team follows BDO methodology and provides deliverables according to standards and timeline
  • Ensure high quality client service by monitoring daily progress of fieldwork with managers and staff
  • Conduct and participate in training of staff members, contributing to firm initiatives.
Your background
  • You have completed a bachelor #39;s degree in business administration, information systems or in a related field
  • You have a CPA, CISA, CISSP or CISM designation
  • You have 10 years or more of professional experience in a similar function within a professional services environment
  • You can prioritize workload based on priorities and you have the flexibility to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • You have experience in coaching and/or mentoring
  • You display exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and presentation skills for internal/external purposes
  • You have experience in general IT controls/IT audit assessments/SOC 1 and 2 engagements
  • You can thrive in a virtual, collaborative organization and environment
  • You have industry knowledge and experience in financial services, healthcare, public sector, and technology sectors
  • You have a strong acumen for assessing relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, and impact
  • You are focused on goals, results, and clients
  • Bilingual in French and English is considered a must
