Job Description

Karwood Retirement HomeGeneral Manager (Salary Negotiable)We have an immediate opportunity for a General Manager. The Home is in Paradise, NL and provides service to 72 residents requiring Level 1 and Level 2 care.As the General Manager, you will:

  • Liaise with Eastern Health, physicians, union representatives, other health care providers and owners to ensure resident needs are top priority
  • Oversee all aspects of management of the Home, including financial, operational, and human resources
  • Promote the facility to the public and to Eastern Health
  • Assist with staff scheduling and various staffing/payroll duties
  • Oversee resident admission considerations and discharge planning and/or transfers.
  • Provide quality assurance of all aspects of the resident experience
  • Provide leadership and assistance to the management team and other staff.
As the ideal candidate, you should have:
  • Previous management experience in a personal care home or related setting is essential.
  • Post-secondary education and experience working as a PCA or LPN or a related field
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Experience managing in a unionized environment.
  • The ability to think independently and a proven history of successful problem solving
  • Flexibility, with solid interpersonal skills that allow you to work effectively in a diverse environment with various populations
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem solving skills.

Experience:
  • Community Living Administrators: 1 year (preferred)
