Job Description

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.You will be supplied with protective equipment (coveralls, hard hat, and fluorescent reflectorized vest) which must be worn when applicable. You must supply your own CSA approved steel toe footwear, which must be in good condition and worn when applicable.The ideal candidate would have the following:

  • Certification as a Flagperson is desirable, however training will be provided.
  • Experience operating packing equipment is considered an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.Upon hire, a current Driver’s Abstract and satisfactory driving record must be provided.
  • Ability to relay information in a quickamp; courteous manner.
The total rewards package for this position includes:An hourly rate of pay of $21.60 with working hours as required based on a 40 hour/week schedule.Hours may vary significantly depending on weather and operational conditions.Extensive overtime may be required.Successful candidates may have opportunities for labor related work at an increased wage at the discretion of leadership (Maintenance Service Worker I rate of pay of $27.35 per hour).Parkland County offers a total rewards package including competitive pay aligned with the Collective Agreement of The International Union of Operating Engineers – Local 955, access to our confidential Employee and Family Assistance Program, and 4% vacation pay and 4% statutory holiday pay in addition to your regular earnings.
