Learn more at ccs4u.org.Our Customer Service Vision: Making it Easy to Ask, Participate and GiveCaledon Community Services is looking for a Chief Development Officer to provide leadership to our team of fund development and event planning professionals while working closely with our Communications team and Program Directors.We’re seeking an all-star with a strong track record in fund developmentto provide strategy and leadership to our organization.Position Overview: The Chief Development Officer (CDO) oversees and executes fundraising strategies, cultivates new donors and retains existing ones by building a culture of appreciation and philanthropy. The CDO is our leader in attracting support to grow our services.Position AccountabilitiesReporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with Divisional Directors, you set annual fund development activities and targets and build relationships with key stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze the strengths and opportunities of current fundraising strategies including goals/targets, processes, resources and fundraising staff performance;Recommend and develop campaigns and events that align with our community’s philanthropy and our strategic plan; bring CCS’ fundraising to levels of excellence in their processes and outcomes;Provide expertise and work closely with the CEO to develop short term (1 year) and longer term (3 years) fundraising and donor engagement strategies;Develop and oversee annual fundraising plans and budgets;Manage and mentor fundraising staff and volunteers, inspiring them to meet deliverables, embrace new challenges and grow professionally;Design initiatives to recruit and engage fundraising volunteers;Build and maintain effective working relationships with various fundraising/event committee volunteers, particularly those who may have a higher profile within the Caledon community;Promote and maintain a professional image of CCS to individuals, businesses, organizations and all other agency stakeholders;Provide the CEO, Board of Directors and Senior Management with regular progress reports on fundraising and donor engagement strategies including on-going analyses of processes, results and recommendations for improvements;Build and develop a Major Gifts pipeline that includes positive professional relationships and stewardship processes with high-profile individuals, businesses and organizations;Work closely with the Director, Communications and Marketing, to ensure fundraising activities and events align with CCS’ key messaging and communication standards;Work closely with the Director of Finance and Infrastructure to ensure the integrity of all donations, records and operational budgets;Adhere to policy and CRA legislation governing charitable organizations;Ensure the accuracy, maintenance and confidentiality of fundraising database;Work with Senior Management to implement program-specific events supporting CCS services;Act as Interim CEO as required;Other duties as assigned by the CEO.Qualification Criteria
