The posting closes at 12:01am on the morning of the closing date***Reporting to the Manager of Community & Employment Services, the incumbent will assist youth, ages 15-29, to secure long-term sustainable employment by providing skills assessment, career exploration and planning, short-term training, skills development and work placements and mentoring. There is a key focus on at-risk youth; those with multiple barriers to employment including: youth on social assistance; aboriginal youth; visible minority youth; youth who are recent immigrants; youth with a disability; youth with low educational attainment, including literacy and language deficiencies; youth with poor employment history; and, youth who live in communities with high rates of unemployment.As part of Algonquin College’s Community Employment Services Team, the incumbent is responsible for administering the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) youth-aged employment programs including Youth Job Connection (YJC) and Youth Job Connection Summer (YJCS), being delivered through Community Employment Services.Required Qualifications:
