The Board operates 2 administration buildings and 21 schools (18 elementary, 2 secondary and 1 K-8 Virtual School) in 13 communities covering 7851 square kilometers for the welfare of 4,580 pupils. For more information visit our web site at: http://www.rccdsb.edu.on.caSUMMARY: The Help Desk Technician reports directly to the Manager of IT and is responsible for providing front-line computer and technology support to enable others’ productivity while contributing to accuracy and timelines of work unit deliverables, work product, and information technologies services.JOB DUTIES:

  • Receives, compiles, logs and directs incoming requests for computer support and service
  • Provides on-line troubleshooting and support for operating systems, applications, networks and websites
  • Assists in the implementation of technology projects
  • Uses MDM Platforms for device support
  • Distributes software packages
  • Processes new and refurbished Windows/MacOS laptops and iPads.
  • Assists in training Board staff
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Completion of college diploma in computer technology
  • Minimum of one year of previous work experience in a technology related role
  • Be a self-motivated, critical thinking team player with superior inter-personal, telephone, and organizational skills and etiquette;
  • Present and maintain a composed, discreet and professional manner, and demonstrate the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively in a fast paced computerized environment;
