The posting closes at 12:01am on the morning of the closing date***Reporting to the Manager of Community and Student Affairs the Learning Strategist/Disability Counsellor will provide support to a diverse client population that includes students with acquired brain injuries, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder, physical disabilities, visual and hearing impairments, medical disabilities, mild intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities and mental health disabilities.The Learning Strategist/Disability Counsellor is responsible for conducting needs assessments and developing customized, compensatory learning strategies that enhance academic performance despite disability-related barriers to learning. These strategic approaches will be based on proven psychological theories of learning and information processing deficits. They will also enhance social/cognitive development in the college environment.The position is based at the Pembroke Campus and requires the incumbent to work on campus and remotely.The successful candidate will:
