Job Description

Are you an energetic, personable, and resourceful person who has a genuine desire to help others_Do you love working with children and want to start or further a career in Child Care__Do you want to be a part of a cause-driven organization that for 35 years has been dedicated to building healthy individuals and communities_*If the following sounds like a good day at work, then this job might be for you!*Reporting directly to the Queen’s Park Daycare Supervisor, the Child Care Program Leader will assist in a variety of programming as a key team member at the Queen’s Park Daycare, who will:

  • Assist with planning and facilitation of activities for programing appropriate for ages 3-5 and 5-12, ensuring they are within the safety guidelines.
  • Assist with daycare responsibilities and the care of children
  • Enjoy working with children and providing quality care by taking initiative and responsibility for the safety and well-being of all children under their supervision.
  • Maintain high energy levels while working in a physically active environment with children.
  • Ensure that the staff/volunteer to child ratio is being maintained at all times.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, parents and children.
  • Excel at working effectively and efficiently within a team environment.
  • Be decisive and deal with constantly changing work patterns and priorities.
We’d love to hear from people with:
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR C (or willingness to obtain).
  • Responsible Adult or Equivalent or willingness to obtain.
  • Desire to obtain further certification (paid for by the YMCA!)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to recognize & act to resolve problems.
Schedule details:
  • Monday - Friday: 24 - 35 hours per week
