HA HA HA KidzfestFestival and Special Event HostApril – June 2023Job DescriptionHa Ha Ha Kidzfest is a new festival in Penticton, BC. The mission of our organization is to present world standard performing arts and participatory activities that are entertaining, educational, and accessible to children from all social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds.The role of Festival and Special Event Host would include responsibilities such as:- Assist in organizing details of festival events (performances and activities): logistics, volunteer coordinating, marketing, communication with key stakeholders.- Implement sponsorship strategies to build our support base.- Regular supervisory meetings with delegated board members.- Other responsibilities regarding the operations of the organization as suited to the successful applicant’s strengths and experience.Applicants should have the following key skills for this role:- A desire to share the highest quality arts and cultural experiences to children and youth- Ability to work independently, strong time management skills- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal- Ability to lead and direct groups of volunteers- Strong organizational skills- Creative problem solving- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, basic graphic design/layoutThis is a full-time, fixed-contract position requiring 35 hours per week for 8 weeks beginning April 24, 2023 and ending June 18, 2023. Contract may be extended as funding allows.Hourly rate of $17.00.Applicants must be between the ages of 15 and 30 at the start of employment.
