Job Description

If you are an experienced Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse with exceptional interpersonal skills who loves working in a flexible environment, we want to hear from you!We have an exciting casual opportunity based out of Penticton Health Centre. This position supports home health, acute care and some residential care within the community.As the Clinical Practice Consultant you will champion, guide and lead the delivery of a comprehensive Wound, Ostomy and Continence program for clients. The ideal applicant will be passionate about creating change and will be responsible for promoting the delivery of quality client care by providing clinical consultation and expertise, education and direction based on a specialized body of knowledge to interdisciplinary team members.This role will collaborate with other Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC); research and evaluate current wound, ostomy & continence standards and facilitate the development and implementation of program policies and procedures, education programs for staff and quality improvement initiatives, incorporating evidence based ‘best practices’.This is a casual position which means hours of work are not guaranteed. Once hired into a casual role, employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent part-time or full time positions. There are many opportunities with Interior Health that begin with casual on-call positions and lead to regular employment. Shift times are rotating, 08:00 to 16:00.

  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Successful completion of the Wound, Ostomy & Continence Institute’s Wound, Ostomy & Continence Education Program, three years recent, relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Valid motor vehicle license.
