Penticton’s newest hotel, the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Penticton is looking for a General Manager to shape the future of this pristine property and join a dynamic hospitality group. Overseeing the operations and strategic planning, the General Manager will lead the way to a fruitful and positive environment, working closely with a talented team.The General Manager responsibilities include formulating overall strategy, managing people and establishing policies. Ultimately, you’ll help our company grow and thrive while supporting the community through strategic involvements.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProperty Management and Leadership through daily meetings, organization and direct training of associates.Ensures compliance with the management company and franchise standards for personnel administration and performance, service to patrons, and room rates.Create a solid, safe and fun environment for all associates promoting a positive workplace cultureDelivers outstanding guest service and financial performance.Delegates authority and assigns responsibility to all employees; supervises work activities of all employees.Engages in community activities and networking events to promote the property and ownership values.Ensure staff receive proper training for each position, including safety training and standard operating procedures.Monitors cost controls for each department on a regular basis.Inspects guests’ rooms, public access areas, and outside grounds for cleanliness and appearance.Monitor social media channels and maximize digital presence.Answers patrons’ complaints and resolves problems to maintain Guest Satisfaction.Ensures employee paperwork, work schedules and payroll are completed and submitted in a timely manner.Audits daily reports and processes monthly reports.Order supplies and equipment as needed and in accordance with company procedures.Embrace Marriott Hotels’ initiatives to uphold the brand to the highest standards.Deliver Marriott Bonvoy loyalty values on every possible occasion.Required Skills and Experience Previous experience as a hotel General Manager, Assistant General Manager orSupervisor required. Experience with Marriott Hotels is an asset.Ideal candidate will have a sound background in sales, operations, yield management, financial reporting and delegation.This is an excellent opportunity for a proven leader looking for a quality, team-oriented, profitable property.
