We are looking for a research assistant in Kelowna, Kamloops, Penticton or Vancouver. Applicants must live in one of these locations to apply.Please see www.healthresearch.ca for details on our work.The successful applicant will have, or is in the process of obtaining, a BSc, and be expected to be or become competent at basic Research Assistant duties including:· Pre-screening patients – you will reach out to patients through phone calls or email to determine their eligibility for clinical trials.· Reading and understanding clinical research protocols and having a clear understanding of inclusion and exclusion criteria.· Recruiting patients – assisting in outreach to doctors, pharmacies, nursing homes, and community professionals.· Assisting in the creation of newsletters, flyers and advertising for recruitment purposes (optional).The successful applicant must possess the following skills:· Ability to explain details of complicated clinical trials to potential participants.· Ability to emphasize with patients and communicate with them in a clear and professional manner.· Excellent English - spoken and written.This job offers flexible hours and the opportunity to work from home 90% of the time.
