Job Description

The Site Superintendent is responsible for supervising all trades to ensure that the project reaches completion before the deadline. They will primarily work as an intermediary between the Project Managers and the crew that maintains the grounds. He or she will schedule their work, keep track of their progress, and deal with any issues that arise. This position will ensure all employees are performing duties in compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery.With over two decades of experience, New City is staffed with an amazing group of professionals, engineers, project managers, and people from different trades that delivers reliable and cost-effective solutions to a wide range of building renewal challenges on both new and existing buildings.   • Monitor and maintain the project construction schedule as needed.
  • Supervise all onsite work activities of all trades and disciplines for the accomplishment of all trade projects.
  • Control and monitor labor, material, and equipment need.
  • Attend pre-construction and construction meetings, taking notes on areas that may present a future problem and present to the Project Manager for consultation.
  • Prepare and expedite project deficiency lists.
  • Supervise staff and provide constructive feedback.
  • Monitor and report on project progress.
  • Plan inspections and obtain construction permits from local authorities.
  • Implement safety and quality guidelines and resolve on-site issues and emergencies.
Requirements
  • 3 to 6 years of experience as Construction Site Superintendent
  • Must have related degree or diploma in engineering or construction
  • Position-relevant bonding and certifications
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
  • Ability to manage coordination efforts in construction projects with various parties, such as architects, project engineers, and landscaping installers
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Proven experience preparing and conducting post-implementation evaluations
  • Ability to create realistic schedules to support the timely completion of construction projects
  • Competitive, goal-oriented, and enjoys taking on difficult assignments occasionally.
  • Must be logical, analytical, and is likely to think through a problem and weigh the pros and cons.
  • Ability to work with routine and yet still shows a sense of urgency at times.
  • Ability to follow rules but is also capable of showing some initiative.
  • Red Seal Certification is preferred.
