Our client is an industry leader in British Columbia and Alberta that provides Asset Retirement and Regulatory Compliance Services. The company also specializes in Decommissioning, Fugitive Emissions, IR Imaging Services, and Environmental Drilling.This newly created position of Director, Operations will play a critical role in providing general oversight in managing various important aspects of Resolve’s operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and successful project execution. This role requires a dynamic individual with a strong pedigree in project management, team development, and leadership. Reports to: President Direct Reports: Three - Business Unit Manager (2) Maintenance Foreman Work arrangement: On-siteLocation: Fort St. John, BCThe Director, Operations will lead and develop a team, collaborate with key stakeholders, and drive excellence across all functions:Business Operations: Provide overall direction and leadership to ensure efficient and effective operations.Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve operational goals and objectives.Monitor key performance indicators and financial metrics to track operational performance.Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost savings, and operational excellence.Collaborate closely with the President and Corporate Controller to align operations with organizational goals.Project Management:Develop and implement project management strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scopes, goals, and deliverables.Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement risk mitigation strategies.Ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.Business Unit Management:Provide guidance and direction to business unit managers, ensuring effective management of their respective teams.Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and employee engagement.Review and analyze business unit performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective measures.Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure business unit success.Technology Implementation: Identify opportunities for technology integration to enhance operational efficiency.Evaluate the effectiveness of technology within the business operations and provide recommendations for improvements.Lead the implementation of new technologies, tools, SOPs, and systems across operational departments.Provide training and support to employees for effective utilization of technology solutions.Manage technology-related contracts and vendor relationships.Vehicle Maintenance Program:Develop and oversee a comprehensive vehicle maintenance program.Ensure the timely servicing, repair, and maintenance of company vehicles.Collaborate with fleet management to optimize vehicle performance and longevity.Monitor compliance with safety and regulatory standards for vehicle operations.Manage relationships with maintenance vendors and suppliers.Vendor Management:Build and maintain strong relationships with key supply chain partners, vendors, and subcontractors.Oversee the administration and issuance of contracts to key business partners.Represent the company in industry forums, meetings, and negotiations.Navigate complex stakeholder relationships and resolve conflicts to achieve shared goals.Leverage relationships to identify opportunities for business growth and operational enhancement.Team Development and Leadership:Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team.Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews.Identify and nurture talent within the team for succession planning and professional growth.Effectively manage conflicts, promote diversity and inclusion, and drive a positive work environment.KPI Reporting:Monitor and analyze KPIs to assess operational effectiveness.Prepare regular reports for leadership, identifying trends, areas for improvement, and successes.Utilize KPI data to drive strategic decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.Collaborate with the finance team to align KPI reporting with financial goals.Competenciesamp; AttributesA strong track record of leading process improvement and change management initiatives.A highly confident leader focusing on team development.Exceptional interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution and relationship-building skills. Proven experience driving operational excellence and process implementation.
