Job Description

Garaventa Lift, an industry leader in accessibility products, is now hiring for a full-time position in our Elevator and Lift Installation Department. Our installation department, headquartered out of our Maple Ridge location, is the largest and most experienced accessibility and residential home elevator-trained installation department in British Columbia and covers the entire Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island as well as the Okanagan region.We currently have an immediate career opportunity for a new trainee apprentice to complement our expanding installation team. We are looking for energetic, punctual employees who are eager to learn new skills and advance in a rewarding career as a Certified Accessibility and Private Residence Lift Technician (TSBC H-Class Certified). As a Certified Accessibility and Private Residence Lift Technician, you will be enrolled in a two-year Technical Safety BC accredited program and be provided with all the training materials, in-class, and hands-on training required to become a fully certified H-Class Mechanic. Throughout the apprenticeship training, you will be introduced to and trained on installations of all types of commercial and residential accessibility lifts as well as residential home elevators. Garaventa offers competitive compensation based on industry standards, as well as extended health and medical benefits, and RRSP programs. Additional benefits also include tool allowance and boot/clothing allowance. Hiring preference will be given to candidates with previous experience/apprenticeship training in the elevator or electrical trades, although consideration will be given to applicants with the right attitude and who possess the following skills:

  • Must work well independently and in a team setting.
  • Should possess good mechanical and/or electrical skills.
  • Must have a minimum Class 5 license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Ability to successfully complete additional training on an ongoing basis.
  • Follow and participate in all safety training and requirements.
  • Have completed grade 12 education (minimum)
