Job descriptionWorking as a crew supervisor, worker will be part of a 2–4 person crew working throughout AB, BC, and SK in oil sands facilities, gas plants and petro-chemical facilities. The position is full-time with April - September being our busy season with most work performed in the field and Oct -March being a slower time with most work occurring in shop. Dry ice blasting experience not necessary but oilfield experience w/ some leadership roles is an asset. Successful candidate will spend a couple months under supervision/training until deemed competent. Applicants will be required to have the following certificates prior to starting. • Standard First Aid w/BC endorsement
• WHMIS 2015/GHS
• CSO (Energy Safety Canada)
• Detection and Control of Flammable Substances (Energy Safety Canada)
• Confined Space Entry/Monitor (Energy Safety Canada)
• H2S Alive (Energy Safety Canada)
• OSSA Approved Fall Protection (Energy Safety Canada)

Applicants must:

• Be comfortable working in the industry during the COVID pandemic
• Be local to the shop (10 mins west of Ponoka)
• Speak good english
• Test negative for 8 panel drug test (including marijuana)
• Possess a driver’s licence w/acceptable drivers abstract and means of transportation to shop (10 mins west of Ponoka)
• Be able to work away from home for extended periods of time
• Be physically fit, able to bend, crouch, kneel and work overhead
• Work in hot, dusty environments
• Be able to work at heights on scaffolding and elevated work platforms and in confined spaces (once trained)
• Be comfortable while working with air purifying respirators and supplied air breathing apparatus (once trained)

Key responsibilities:

• Assist in maintaining our company’s safety culture by adopting safe work procedures with positive attitude
• Work according to rules and regulations set by OH&S, Brothers, and our clients
• Organize safety meetings, hazard assessments and near miss reports
• Lead the operation of dry ice blasters, air compressors, and generators in oilfield facilities
• Maintain good relations with our clients based on working safely while delivering high quality services

Wage:Workers will start at $32-$35/hr depending on experience. Overtime will be paid after 8 hrs each weekday and on weekends. Travel is paid at regular wage. PPE is provided (except boots as per above).
