Your Opportunity:Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre has an opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. As an LPN at our rural hospital, you will work in a variety of areas: this includes a busy ER, a 19 bed acute care unit with obstetrics, and an 18 bed acute care and transition unit. As an LPN working at our facility, you will be a vital part of our collaborative health care team. Our leadership team believe in a team culture and strive to provide a positive experience for our staff. Previous experience will be valuable in transitioning to the Rural Nurse role; however, you will be provided with mentorship and education opportunities will be available to increase competence and confidence in the rural nurse role. You will be expected to provide safe and competent care to our patients in a collaborative, family centered care approach. As a member of our team, you will be flexible in what area of the hospital you work in as priorities will change rapidly between each unit. Ponoka, which means Elk in Blackfoot serves a large First Nations community. Our town is located along Highway 2 in the Battle River Valley within an hour drive to major cities.Description:As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills.
