Job Description

Your Opportunity:Attention Mental Health Therapists! This position may qualify for a $5,000 to $25,000 Recruitment Incentive. Visit rcif-alberta.ca/hsaa for more details. As a member of the multi-disciplinary team, reporting to the Manager, Community Addictionamp; Mental Health, Rural West Central Zone, you will provide emergent intervention, screening, risk and mental health assessment, provisional diagnostic and treatment planning services to adults with acute, and chronic psychiatric disorders. Service is primarily provided to adult clinic, but you may on occasion respond to clients #39; needs of all age group with addiction and psychiatric disorders, i.e., children, adolescents, seniors. This position is responsible for assessment/intervention, direct assistance in problem solving and short-and long-term case management, focusing on functional living skills, and community stabilization, for those with short-term and chronic mental health issues in a variety of community settings. Direct client care includes responding, screening, and prioritizing service, conducting necessary assessment and providing. treatment to clients including mental status and risk assessments and therapy. Familiarity with mental health legislation is essential to provide both education, clinical care and collaborative working relationships with other health professionals. Utilizing a variety of treatment modalities you will provide consultation to community agencies, physicians, and other key stakeholders in the care continuum of addiction and mental health. As an active and supportive treatment member, you have excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. You are a self-directed, highly motivated individual with exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem solving that is able to manage change and deal with a fast-paced work environment.Description:As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:Master #39;s degree in Psychology; or master #39;s degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master #39;s or bachelor #39;s degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master #39;s degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.Additional Required Qualifications:Five years recent experience in Mental Health. Equivalencies may be considered, and Social Workers must be authorized by ACSW to provide psychosocial interventions. Current registration with the appropriate professional college or association that is recognized under the Health Professions Act.
