Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller will:➢ Provide leadership, training, and development to the accounting team➢ Work with the Controller to assist with month end financial statement rollup and analysis,➢ Support the Controller with annual budget preparation➢ Maintain accounts receivable and payable accounts➢ Provide recommendations and improvements to existing processes➢ Establish and maintain new and existing internal controls➢ Be responsible for reconciling of accounts➢ Research issues with a problem solving/improvement mindset➢ Participate and assist with year end internal and external audits➢ Be responsible for year end inventory roll up and ensuring inventory processes and controls remain in place and are followed by other departments throughout the yearAdministrative Responsibilities:➢ Prepare EFTs, check runs, wires➢ Bank Reconciliations➢ Prepare weekly cash reports➢ Update weekly metrics➢ Ensure all transactions are recorded in compliance with GAAP➢ Take on and complete miscellaneous projects in a timely manner➢ Various day to day administrative tasksQualifications:➢ Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant Designation (CPA), or working toward CPA designation, or➢ Bachelor’s Degree, and interest in working toward CPA designation➢ Post CPA designation experience would be an asset, but not required➢ Natural leadership skills and experience➢ Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles➢ Advanced Microsoft Excel skillsSoft Skills➢ Sense of integrity and accountability➢ Personable and a Team Player➢ Positive, never quit attitude➢ Proficiency in English, both written and oral➢ Strong problem-solving skills➢ Continuous improvement mindset➢ Highly analytical and detail orientedBenefits:➢ Life/Work Balance➢ Profit Sharing➢ Group Insurance Benefits (Health, Dental, Life, ADD, Critical Illness and EFAP)➢ Retirement Savings Program➢ Occasional Ability to Work from Home➢ Education Fees ReimbursementIf you are a CPA and would like to join our team, or you are working toward your CPA designation and would like to grow with us, please submit your cover letter and resume.Salary is negotiation depending on an credentials and experience.Application deadline: 2021-10-31Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: From $50,000.00 per yearAdditional pay:
