Service Desk SpecialistThe City of Port Moody has an exciting temporary, full-time opportunity for an I.S. Service Desk Specialist who takes initiative and is an excellent team player to join our team until approximately January 2024. This position reports to the I.S. Infrastructure Supervisor and will respond to day-to-day service desk requests, providing support and technical assistance to staff.This position will:

  • Respond to service desk requests, providing hardware, software and networking support
  • Allocate new hardware, software and infrastructure components
  • Create user accounts and maintain security groups
  • Acquire, review and change existing hardware and software configurations
  • Develop efficient procedures to manage repetitive tasks
  • Create and update technical and end user documentation
  • Assist with data backups
  • Deploy and program telephony handsets
  • Troubleshoot multifunction printers
  • Maintain and deploy mobile devices
Qualifications:
  • Two year technology diploma with a focus on networking technology and computing infrastructure
  • Minimum 6 months to one year of related experience working with computer systems in a service desk role
  • Knowledge of IP networking, IP telephony, Active Directory, Windows Server, Windows desktops and peripherals
  • Demonstrated familiarity with current technological developments and trends
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License
