Under the direction of the Director of Programs and Services, the Intake Worker receives and processes requests by telephone, fax and in person for counselling services. The Intake Worker assigns cases according to established protocols.Duties and Responsibilities:Provide specific detailed information to callers about counselling services, groups, other agency services and community resources;Screen for high risk callers who may require immediate service;Assess fee assignment, acquire documents and relevant intake information;Distribute cases to counsellors and/or programs;Uses client database to create data files on callers requesting service and hard copy files for completed intakes;Maintains tables and data integrity of the client database and producing reportsParticipates in regular quality assurance reviews, supervision and meetings as required.Qualifications Required:Undergraduate degree in Human ServicesExperience and familiarity with counselling and family support programsRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Excellent inter-personal skills in listening, empathy and clarification;Excellent professional telephone manner;Strong organizational skills, able to follow through on procedures and use time effectively;Excellent attention to detail, proofreading and organizational skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and multi-task to meet deadlines.Classification/Salary: $23.10 - $26.91 per hour plus 10.2% in lieu of benefits. JJEP Grid Level 11.
