Job Description

You will lead with focus on worker health & safety, as well as the environmentally responsible and reliable operations of the Upper, Mid and Lower Plants. The Burrard Products Terminal provides a critical refined products link to domestic product supply in the lower mainland of British Columbia and access to export markets for Suncor’s distillate production.Minimum Requirements:

  • 5 years or more of post certification experience in refining/terminal operations or related Industrial, Utility or Oil and Gas processing experience
  • 3 years or more of prior supervisory or leadership roles such as team lead, foreperson, unit lead and/or panel operator, preferably in a unionized environment
  • A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a 4th Class or higher Steam Ticket, Trade Certificate, Diploma or Degree in a relevant technical field
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft products and an industry standard enterprise resource planning tool (preferably SAP)
  • Previous experience or training in Emergency response would be considered an asset
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with site leaders to ensure the safe and reliable operations of Terminal including process units, fire protection and safety systems, and that products are blended to the appropriate quality specifications and transported as per plan
  • Foster collaboration and create an inclusive and respectful work environment
  • Ensure safe work practices, the collective agreement, and corporate policies are administered in a fair and consistent manner
  • Monitor environmental regulations/requirements, and report any non-compliances
  • Provide input to Maintenance team regarding priority, requirements, risks and operational impacts
  • Lead daily toolbox talks and monthly shift safety meetings with employees and follow up on items raised
  • Participate in HAZOP reviews and develop JSAs
  • Lead effective incident reporting and investigations
  • Act as an on-scene commander or other required roles during emergency response
Location and other Key Details:
  • You will work out of our Burrard Products terminal office located at 1155 Glenayre Drive, Port Moody, BC
  • The position will be on a rotational shift schedule to support 24/7 operations of the Terminal
  • This position is safety sensitive
  • Relocation support will be provided
