Job Description

The editorial team at Open Ocean Apps is on the hunt for a writer and data gatherer for fishing related and sometimes hunting related content for our two apps: Pro Angler and HUNT IN. Are you tech-savvy and passionate about fishing Do you like to write and are proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel This role is for you!Application Requirements

  • 2-3 samples of your previous work that are relevant to Pro Angler Fishing content
  • In addition, please include the topics youre most interested in writing about.
Applicants must be highly motivated and possess the following requirements:
  • Relevant experience in writing and editing - prior experience writing for an online or print publication is preferred.
Pro Angler is the number one ranked fishing app in the U.S. and now serving Ontario providing anglers with comprehensive, real-time fishing information.Pro Angler is a premium all-in-one app that combines real-time weather data, regional reports, and a social media platform to enhance the angling experience. Pro Angler enables seasoned and novice anglers alike to identify, learn about, and catch more fish. Loaded with comprehensive information and tips from local professionals, the app includes a detailed species guide, angling techniques, GPS hot spots, weekly regional updates on “what’s biting”, Catch Central where anglers can share their fishing pictures and videos, and real-time weather and condition reports for saltwater and freshwater fisheries.Ideal candidates will possess:
  • Knowledge of various fishing techniques
  • An ability to read satellite and bathymetric mapping (ex. Google Maps and Navionics)
  • An understanding of weather forecasts and radar summaries as they pertain to fishing
  • Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets
  • Experience with international fishing practices are considered an asset
Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $20.00-$27.00 per hourAdditional pay:
  • Bonus pay
