Company OverviewTidal Organics is a harvester and manufacturer of high-quality marine plant products that are marketed throughout the world, commonly used as an animal feed ingredient or fertilizer. Based in Pubnico, our marine plants are sustainably harvested along the cold clean shores of Nova Scotia.www.tidalorganics.comPosition SummaryThe Maintenance Technician participates in maintaining all production and marine equipment at Tidal Organics, Pubnico operations.Position Information

  • Full-time, permanent position with competitive hourly rate.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Comprehensive benefits package.
  • Based at Tidal Organics Pubnico, Nova Scotia. Travel to other company operations in Southwest Nova Scotia required.
Responsibilities and Duties· Participate in maintenance operations involving processing equipment, pumps, air compressors, electrical, mobile equipment and vessels.· Continue education by participating in professional development opportunities.· Contribute to maintaining a positive, healthy and safe working environment.· Other duties as required.Work EnvironmentThis position is performed within the manufacturing facility. When in the facility, the individual may be subject to loud noise and variable temperatures. They will be required to wear the appropriate CSA approved personal protective equipment and other garments as set out in the company policies and procedures.Position RequirementsEducation and Training
  • High school diploma
  • NSCC Industrial Mechanic Diploma or equivalent experience
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ industrial experience
  • Job training provided
Competencies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet simultaneous deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Physically able to lift up to 25 kg.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Outlook.
