Job Description

DescriptionUrgently HiringCentral Alberta Co-op is hiring a temporary casual Pharmacist (Maternity Leave Coverage) at the Timberlands Pharmacy in Red Deer to deliver exceptional patient care and service. You’ll dispense prescriptions, counsel patients, administer immunizations, and ensure regulatory compliance while supporting pharmacy staff and business growth. If you #39;re a dedicated professional passionate about patient care, apply today!Position: Pharmacist Term: This is a temporary contract with an approximate end date of June 2026 (maternity leave coverage).Casual: Less than 24 hours per week.Availability: Weekdays and weekends- mornings, afternoons, and evenings.Responsibilities:

  • Acknowledge customers promptly and professionally,
  • Demonstrate warmth, empathy, and compassion towards the customer,
  • Accurately and timely dispense prescriptions including obtain, interpret, and evaluate all prescriptions to ensure therapeutic appropriateness, cost-effectiveness, accuracy and completeness,
  • Counsel and provide professional advice to patients on prescription and OTC products to provide excellent customer service and maximize customer loyalty,
  • Administer injections/immunizations as requested to maximize patient care,
  • Ensure compliance to company policies and procedures, professional standards and applicable laws and regulations including maintenance of complete and accurate documentation as required by the College of Pharmacy, drug plans, and company programs,
  • Supervise Pharmacy Assistants and Technicians,
  • Provide patient-focused care, including clinical services such as disease state management, medication reviews, including Initiation of care plans, follow up and documentation,
  • Maintain cleaning standards and appearance of the department,
  • Assist and complete financial documents as requested by administration,
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications:
  • Registered with the Alberta College of Pharmacy
  • 2 -3 years of experience including conducting and billing Clinical Services
  • Injection certified
  • Preference is given to Additional Prescribing Authority (APA) designation
  • Knowledge of Kroll pharmacy system is an asset
  • Interest or certification in geriatrics, diabetes, travel and smoking cessation
  • Strong customer/patient satisfaction orientation
  • Team player with excellent communication and organizational skills
