Job Description

This position is a part of the Customs Department working with the goal of ensuring that Brandt, along with its vendors, customers, and service partners, follow and adhere to the rules and regulations governing customs clearances both in and out of Canada.Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with internal and external customers, vendors and government agencies verifying compliance is met relating to the import/export of goods and assist to the success of company goals.
  • Create customs documents as required including, Other Government Departments /Partner Government Agencies documents as necessary to facilitate the import /export of goods to and from the Brandt Group of Companies
  • Audit of import/export documents for compliance.
  • Collect and consolidate Customs documents with copy of Purchase Orders, Commercial Invoices, OGD/PGA documents to ensure we have customs compliant files ready for audit.
  • Maintain/review Brandt and service supplier databases as necessary to support internal/external customs compliance needs.
  • Understand and assign harmonized tariff codes to Brandt database.
  • Contact suppliers/customers/government agencies as required to obtain information necessary to support Brandt compliance.
  • Continuously learn (read and interpret legal/regulatory information)
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
  • Experience with international shipping and logistics
  • Must be able to establish priorities, coordinate and monitor work plans, and maintain effective working relationships with all logistic counterparts, customers, and other departments
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • This position in not being offered as remote
  • Candidates must be detail-oriented, and have strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
