In this position, you will work with a team of professionals responsible for providing consultation, technical expertise, provincial policy development, performance monitoring and coordination related to public health and communicable disease prevention and control in Saskatchewan.As the Provincial Communicable Disease Epidemiologist, you will be responsible for managing and conducting communicable disease surveillance including cluster and outbreak investigations, and preparing epidemiological reports on the findings of those surveillance activities.As our ideal candidate, you will be proactive, detail-oriented, organized, and flexible. You will be current on and have a base of epidemiological knowledge typically acquired through a graduate degree (Masters or PhD) in epidemiology, biostatistics or a related discipline together with significant experience in communicable disease surveillance. You will possess the ability to develop, collect, research, analyze and manipulate quantitative and qualitative data including utilizing advanced statistical and data-handling software such as SAS and the Microsoft Office Suite. Experience using Panorama and business intelligence tools such as advanced features of Excel or MicroStrategy is an asset. You will also have experience working in a leadership capacity in order to support ministry and stakeholder interests.
