Job Description

The Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority is seeking a permanent full-time Inbound Logistics Lead to work in the Distribution Centre. As an Inbound Logistics Lead, you will oversee the receiving of all products into the Distribution Centre and are responsible for the scheduling of carriers and resolving delivery discrepancies. Additionally, you will be responsible for technical dues in the breakage room to ensure that information on products is accurately captured in the sheets such as the correct coding, product information, quantity, and placement of products. You are also responsible for performing monthly cycle counts and quarterly mini-counts.Core Competencies (Job Family – Technical) Job Duties

Job Duties
  • Check the accuracy and condition of incoming shipments. Verify the information against invoices, purchase orders, bills of lading, or other records captured by the DC’s warehouse management system (Elite).
  • Examine and unpack incoming shipments, recording overages, shortages, and breakages.
  • Enter incoming inventory into the warehouse management system for appropriate warehousing storage of products.
  • Accurate set up of products in the warehouse management system.
  • Ensure that all products received in the DC are safe and secure for storage.
  • Delegate dues to Machine Operators as needed to ensure optimal operation of the warehouse.
  • Monitor and handle emails through a shared email box.
  • Oversee the appointment booking process for incoming carriers.
  • Assist and provide other SLGA branches within the Liquor Wholesale Division with DC information related to the receipt and accuracy of products.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the building through general cleaning and maintenance. For example, but not limited to sweeping floors, garbage, and product disposal.
  • Backfill for Machinery Operators when coverage is needed (for no more than one hour) to ensure optimal operation of the warehouse. Backfill dues may entail but are not limited to replenishments, clearing the r-dock, ensuring aisle 36 is properly stacked, and relief for impromptu meetings, coffee, or lunch breaks.
Required Knowledge and Technical Qualifications
  • Knowledge of applicable health and safety requirements and responsibilities for the safe operation of the warehouse.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and warehousing practices.
  • Knowledge of safe lifting techniques.
  • Knowledge of safe handling and storage practices or techniques for beverage alcohol products.
  • Knowledge of product identification standards.
  • Knowledge of applicable computer hardware and terminology. For example, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to input, edit, update, retrieve, maintain, format, and transmit data within the warehouse management system.
  • Ability to create and generate queries, reports, and documents utilizing word processing, database, spreadsheet, communications, and other software packages with speed and accuracy.
  • Must demonstrate an attitude of safety by always ensuring the safety of self and others within the workplace.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment during stressful and high-traffic conditions and in tight spaces.
  • Ability to visually pre-inspect warehouse equipment to identify any mechanical concerns which could result in a lockout.
  • Ability to ensure the cleanliness of the building through general cleaning and maintenance. For example, but not limited to, sweeping floors, garbage, and product disposal.
  • Ability to multitask and work with various distractions while maintaining accuracy.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve within the scope of this job.
  • Must obtain Fall Arrest Certification to work safely at elevated heights in a High Li Cage.
  • Must obtain a valid Operator’s Certification Card for Powered Industrial Vehicles for a:
    • Walkie Rider with a capacity of 6,000 pounds
    • Sit-Down Counterbalance High Li with a capacity of 2,000 pounds
    • Stand-Up Reach Truck with a capacity of 3,600 pounds.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to be able to push, pull, lift, and carry weights up to 23 kg (51 pounds).
  • Successful completion of an independent physical assessment based on bona fide occupational requirements for hearing, vision, strength, and flexibility must be done before employment.
Working ConditionsFine motor skills are required to operate radio frequency equipment and warehouse machinery controllers. In the warehouse environment, the Inbound Logistics Supervisor works near heavy-moving equipment; is exposed to exhaust fumes, dust, dirt, noise, extreme temperature fluctuations, equipment vibration, chemical and alcohol fumes, as well as the handling hazardous materials such as broken glass, batteries, mold, and cleaning supplies. The Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to minimize exposure to hazards that may cause serious workplace injuries are safety vests and steel-toe boots. The days of operation are from Sunday to Friday and occasionally Saturdays.Both your cover letter and resume will be used in the screening process.You must clearly indicate how you have acquired the relevant technical knowledge outlined above.
