The Red Seal Cook is responsible to ensure that meals are prepared and served to the highest standard possible. The 1st Cook provides coverage of the Chef’s position when they are out on rotation.This position is based on an 8 week on, 4 week out rotation. Travel to and from Resolute Bay is provided by the company. Accommodations and meals while at the project site are also provided by the company.Where We Work and Live:ATCO Frontec has been operating in Resolute Bay since 1970 and have a long history of providing services in the North. The ATCO Frontec team in Resolute Bay provides logistics services for various Northern Government and private sector initiatives, including support and maintenance for the Polar Continental Shelf Program, the Resolute Bay Weather Observation, and the operation, maintenance and distribution of fuel for the hamlet and the Resolute Bay airport. The project team also provides logistics and operational support to initiatives in surrounding communities including Eureka and Grise Fiord. With a wide range of resources and experience, the Resolute Bay team can handle any operation in one of the most hostile climates in Canada.Responsibilities:Assist the Chef in managing food services in strict compliance with ATCO Frontec Food Service Management GuidesAssists the Chef in the preparation of all foods to be served at the designated timeAssist the chef in the inventory control to assure proper minimum stockOrder supplies in accordance with the population of the lodgeEnsure that the meals are prepared and severed to the highest standardEnsure that the kitchen staff completes their given tasks in a professional and timely mannerTrain workers in food preparation, service, sanitation, and safety proceduresAssign duties, responsibilities, and work areas to ensure efficient serviceInspect facilities or equipment for regulatory complianceClean kitchen, utensils and equipment.Other duties as assigned by management from time to timeQualifications:Must have Red Seal Certification5 or more years’ experience as 1st Cook in the hotel/restaurant industryAdvanced Food Safe Certificate is RequiredProfessional communication skills, oral, and writtenAbility to work with and supervise other kitchen employeesStrong organization and leadership skillsAbility to prioritize and multitaskWork well under pressureAbility to prioritize and multitaskEffectively solve problemsWe would like to thank everyone for their application; however, only those being considered for an interview will be contacted.Final candidates will be required to undergo a Security Clearance Check.This position has been identified as safety sensitive and will require completion of a pre-employment alcohol & drug test, fit to work medical test, criminal record check, and provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination.Collection, use, and retention of personal information will be in accordance with ATCO Group privacy policies and practices.By submitting your resume and personal information to the ATCO Group of Companies, and/or participating in a personal interview, you acknowledge and consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information by the ATCO Group of Companies to determine your suitability for employment opportunities within the ATCO Group of Companies.Quick Apply
