Your Opportunity:As a Seniors’ Health Instructor – Clinical Educator in a regionalized department you will be responsible for providing education to staff in Central Zone. Your responsibilities will be to develop, coordinate, facilitate, and deliver education as required. You will partner with clinical educators from other portfolios and other health care professionals to develop and facilitate clinical education that expands across portfolios. Travel is required to multiple sites within the zone. Please note, this facility provides Long Term Care (LTC) or Designated Supportive Living (DSL) services and by Order of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, many AHS employees are restricted to work only at a single LTC/DSL site for the remainder of the pandemic. Speak to the hiring manager who will confirm if, as the successful candidate in this position, you will be restricted to work at only one LTC/DLS site in Alberta.Description:As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum 5 years road based rural nursing experience with at least 2 years recent experience in Home Care and/or LTC. Strong working knowledge of CCHSS. Strong computer knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a virtual team.Preferred Qualifications:Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
