Supervisor, Accounting and Assurance Accounting firm with over 35 years of experience, serving as the business partner of choice for privately owned corporations, their shareholders, and non-profit organizations throughout Hamilton and surrounding areas. The firm employs 50+ employees and offers accounting, advisory, taxation, valuation, and litigation supportservices.Overview of the Opportunity:The Supervisor, Accounting and Assurance, will focus on providing high-qualityaccounting, assurance, and consulting services for clients.Roles and Responsibilities:• Prepare engagement deliverables (financial statements, letters, communications, etc.).• Review, investigate, and correct accounting and assurance engagement files and financial statements.• Review work in progress of assigned staff members. Maintain high-quality control when reviewing work done by other team members and providing feedback to team members.• Assist with technical accounting issues and act as a point of contact for audit and accounting assistance.• Prepare/review corporate and personal tax returns.• Communicate and maintain relationships with clients, Canada Revenue Agency, lawyers, and bankers.• Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve workprocesses.Skills: Must Have:• Canadian CPA designation or CFE passed• Experience with review engagements, compilations, and tax returns (private enterprise)• Must be able to work hybrid in Hamilton• Hiring Status: Urgently hiringEducation:Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or related equivalent degreeCompletion of a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designationExperience:• Minimum of four years of experience in public practiceSkills and Knowledge:• Advanced accounting, auditing, and tax skills• Experience with CaseWare, Caseview, and TaxPrep considered an asset• A team player able to rally resources and work with others to meet the needs of the client• Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence• Strong interest in coaching and development, with a commitment to personal growth• Proven ability to deliver the full cycle of project management accountabilities• Superior verbal and written communication skills• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlinesAdditional information:• Ability to work flexible hours• Job Function: Accounting• Reporting To: Manager• Job Type: Full time• Team Size To Manage: 4• City: Hamilton• Province/State: Ontario• Country: Canada• Location Type: head-office• Candidate Relocation: No• Salary: $90,000 - $100,000Industry: AccountingCompany Description: Mid-Sized Accounting Firm in HamiltonCulture, Perks, and Benefits:
