Job Description

Job SummaryLongview Landscaping is looking for full-time labourer to start immediately. The job will be focused on snow removal until the season transitions. Our team clears snow in the winter, and does both landscape construction and landscape maintenance in the summer.Work Location InformationAirdrie and Calgary urban areasMust have own vehicle to meet at a central location in Airdrie at beginning of the day. Vehicle not required during working hours, but due to the variability of working hours Transit is not recommended.Job TypeFull-timeDuring winter, the hours are determined by the weather. The position may include weekends and evenings as weather conditions require.Required Skills

  • Clear snow from sidewalks, driveways and pathways using a variety of equipment such as shovels, backpack blowers, and sweepers
  • Apply ice melt to sidewalks, driveways and pathways as needed
  • Remove litter and garbage
  • Assist with landscape constructions
  • Weed, prune and trim trees and plants
  • Cut grass
  • Rake and collect refuse
  • Cart and spread topsoil and other materials
  • Lay sod or seed
  • Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs and trees
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens
  • Operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment
Physical CapabilitiesAttention to detail, heavy lifting, physically demanding requiring walking, bending, crouching, kneeling and standing for long periods of time, working long hours. You must be in good physical condition and have the strength to perform the job duties.QualificationsNo formal education required, previous experience would be considered an asset, but is not requiredCompany ProfileLongview Landscaping has been in business for over 15 years.
