Job Description

Bring your best time management skills, your passion for social media and your enthusiasm for creating memorable events to entertain, engage and delight guests and the general public … we want to talk to you!SUMMARYThis position supports the Marketing Department by coordinating and executing promotions, events, customer service duties, communications, and other administrative responsibilities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meet with trade and professional associations and other groups to promote conference, convention and trade show service and research potential.
  • Meets with sponsors and organizing committees to plan event scope and format, establish and monitor budgets, review administrative procedures and discuss progress.
  • Develop, research, and assess potential corporate business and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Develop and present sales presentations to secure new business opportunities.
  • Work with the Food and Beverage team on menu planning and requirements.
  • Works with and assists customer service to coordinate services, casino promotions events within the site.
  • May be responsible for updating marketing materials and POS on the premises.
  • Provide detailed review, post-event follow-up, conduct event surveys and assessments to determine opportunities for ongoing improvement in sponsorship and corporate offerings.
  • Research and make recommendations on the external events and functions that Century would benefit from participating in.
  • Work with the Marketing Manager to determine appropriate participation levels at tradeshows and similar external functions both on and off the premises and as needed to assist with the coordination staffing and execution of such events.
  • Assist with execution of casino promotions, including the use of PA and MIC to inform patrons and staff of marketing events.
  • Assists in coordinating promotions / special events identifies event objectives, determines the requirements that must be met to accomplish those objectives for example facilities and services.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate administrative procedures for the invoicing and payment of all corporate events and sponsorships in a timely fashion.
  • Regular monitoring of budgets, financial results with annual goals and objects in mind.
  • Promotes all of Century Casino’s service to patrons and event guests, including maintaining and developing reports for promotion and events to measure the overall success of events.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESIs responsible for assisting the Marketing Department by providing direction, coordination of the team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees’ planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees.QUALIFICATIONSRequires a winning attitude and outgoing personality, with a focus on delivering unsurpassed excellence in customer service. The ability to problem solve is necessary. The position requires excellent communication and presentation skills, excellent organizational and time management skills. Stamina and energy are required to work long hours when necessary, with the ability to work a varied schedule that may include days, evenings, and weekends. Must possess the ability to work effectively with all departments and employees. Ability to pay close attention to details. Ability to work well under pressure and make responsible decisions quickly. Ability to work successfully with a team and independently to achieve objectives and goals set out.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma. A combination of education and experience may be considered. One to two years of experience in promotions/events/public relations/communications/sales, Food and Beverage experience would be an asset.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSMust be able to pass a criminal background check.LANGUAGE SKILLSMust have superior public speaking skills. Ability to write effective letters, memos, speeches, and articles for publication. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers or staff members, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one, small group, and large group settings. Ability to effectively present information to the employee base, management, and public groups.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSBasic math skills are required.REASONING ABILITYMakes recommendations, beyond the scope of essential duties while considering impacts on the operations of other departments. Ability to define potential problems with solutions, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is also regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, colour vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Essential duties require lifting 20 or more pounds and working a standard workweek with additional hours on a routine basis.WORK ENVIRONMENTEssential duties involve working with large numbers of people while primarily in an inside environment, which is frequently loud or containing high noise levels.MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USEDVarious general office equipment is used including computers, photocopiers and staplers.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $38,000.00-$41,500.00 per yearBenefits:
