Exceptional service and leadership are what inspires you to get out of bed in the morning and you are a morning, noon, and night person.Job Duties· Adhere to company standards set by our by the restaurant manager and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility and labor costs.· Help enforce sanitary practices for food handling and general cleanliness in dining areas.· Help ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances.· Help ensure consistent high quality of food preparation and service.· Help maintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards.· Work with Restaurant Manager for efficient provisioning and purchasing of supplies.· Uphold all alcohol service guidelines.· Ensure positive guest service in all areas by helping respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.· Help manage shifts which include: daily decision making, scheduling, planning while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness.· Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and service.· Provide direction to employees regarding operational and procedural issues.· Help oversee the training of new employees.· Develop employees by providing ongoing feedback, establishing performance expectations and by conducting performance reviews.· Prepare schedules and ensure that the restaurant is staffed for all shifts.· Other duties as assigned.SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS· At least 1 – 2 years’ leadership experience in a managerial role in a restaurant/lounge within a hotel environment preferred· 3 – 5 years’ previous supervisory experience in a restaurant within a hotel or similar operation (full service)· 2 – 3 years progressive service experience in food & beverage (preferably in a hotel environment)· Some banquet/event experience (serving or event planning or servicing) at least 6 months’· Experience with restaurant management software· POS programming experience· Inventory management experience· Serving It Right· MUST be legally able to work in CanadaPERSONAL SUITABILITY· Must be able to work a variety of shifts and days (include early mornings and late nights including weekends and holidays).· Expected to spend 100% of their time on the floor.· Enjoys interacting with guests, soliciting feedback on their dining experiences, sharing knowledge about the hotel and resort. Helps promote current events and upcoming promotions occurring at the hotel.· Approachable, firm, and professional at all times. Holds a firm line between being friendly with the associates yet providing leadership to the team.
