You understand how things tick – you like to take things apart; problem solve and put things back together again. You have a high mechanical aptitude for manual dexterity. As a Maintenance Person, you know how to keep all hotel systems and items functioning properly by performing general and preventative maintenance. When something in the hotel stops operating correctly, you jump in with a solution. You have a warmth and passion that ensures our hotel guests feel genuinely cared for, and an attention to detail that results in all tasks being done in a timely, efficient manner. If you can’t fix something right away, you look for a solution. For you, it’s never – it doesn’t work, or it’s too complicated. Challenges are your game, you are a puzzle-solver. No trade ticket is required, but if you have worked in any of the trades, this would be an asset.Responsibilities Include: Attention to detail – Perform regular checks and maintenance on hotel systems to ensure all are operating correctlyEnsuring Professional Service – Interact with hotel guests in a professional, warm manner when repairing or servicing any hotel room or public area itemsBeing a Team Player - Work positively alongside co-workers to ensure tasks are completed to standard in a safe, timely manner. Responds to internal guests promptly and immediately and advises them when issue has been resolved – this follow up is key. As often an external guest may be waiting to hear if a particular issue has been resolved (heat, air conditioning, sink drain).Setting Up Your Area for Success – Put things back where they belong. As each shift tends to work on their own, putting things back where they belong is critical. Some tools are manufactured for a very specific task and only for that task, so putting them back where they need to be ensures quick and efficient access. Keeping daily logs of the work you have completed during your shift. Maintenance logs is equally important. Your co-worker needs to know of any items carrying over or if there any repair people showing up on the next shift.
