Job Description

Red Mountain Resort is looking for enthusiastic and outdoor oriented individuals to be part of our Grooming crew. The Snowcat Operator is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of our grooming fleet and to continually strive to exceed our guest’s expectations. The Snowcat Operator positions available may be full-time, part-time or casual for the winter operating season. This position will work primarily night shift and must be available on short notice.Essential Duties:

  • Responsible for data input sheets, check sheets, fuel usage logs and maintenance requirements
  • Responsible for the upkeep of equipment as required by the Grooming Supervisor or maintenance staff
  • Perform mechanical work on equipment as required by the grooming supervisor or maintenance staff
  • Recognize equipment failure and report to the supervisor
  • Be aware of potential trouble spots and poor skiing/snowboarding surface
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all staff
  • Assist supervisors as required
  • Must have read and understood the employee handbook and safe work procedures associated with grooming duties
  • Report all hazards on groomed runs to dispatch

  • Demonstrate a willingness to help out and to go beyond the routine duties of the position
Qualifications:
  • Grade 12 Education
  • Must have previous experience operating a Snowcat as a groomer and/or operating heavy equipment
  • Knowledge of Red Mountain Resort slopes
  • Must be physically fit and able to perform all physical duties associated with operating a Snowcat
  • Must be able to perform shift work (primarily night shifts with potential for afternoon shifts)
  • Must be available on short notice
  • Must have awareness and knowledge of latest trends and expectations around grooming products
  • Must be proficient in basic computer use, including Word, Excel, and Outlook in a Windows environment
