Reason for Post :Vacant positionPosition Status :Permanent- Full timeWork Shifts :DayOrganization :CIUSSS de lOuest-de-l’Île-de-MontréalJob Territory :Pierrefonds-RoxboroDivision :Mental Health and Addictions Programs DirectorateService :Santé mentale adulteReference number :CAT4-21-5069Number of days :Length of Assignment :Work Schedule :Salary :Number of positions available :1Job Category :Psychology and social services professional (Psychologist/Social Worker/Psychoeducator/Community Org./etc.)Posting Start Date :2021-10-23Posting End Date :2021-12-02Description :The CIUSSS de lOuest-de-lÎle-de-Montréal is currently seeking a Psychoeducator to fill a permanent full-time position in the Adult Mental Health First-Line Services of the CLSC Pierrefonds.The Pierrefonds CLSCs Adult Mental Health First-Line Services receive individuals over the age of 18 who present with persistent mental health problems that are moderate in intensity, and sometimes severe but stabilized. They consult to learn how to manage their symptoms, reduce their suffering and learn coping skills. In a client-centered approach and with a view to recovery, short- to medium-term follow-ups are offered to them individually or in groups, by a multidisciplinary team supported by a psychiatrist and a clinical supervisor.Within this team, your role will consist mainly of acting as a clinical psychoeducator. You will also be consulted from time to time for your distinctive knowledge, approaches and tools, specific to your professional identity. Finally, you will participate in collective efforts to continuously improve the quality of care and services, particularly through the integration of new knowledge and best practices resulting from research.As a front-line psychoeducator, you will be required to:

  • Conduct a psycho-educational assessment to determine: the quality of person-environment interactions, resources and deficits that contribute favorably (protective factors) or unfavorably (risk factors) to adjustment;
  • Evaluate adjustment difficulties and adaptive capacities using a structured approach and standardized tools;
  • Establish an intervention plan that will be carried out in most cases by intervening directly with the person, by organizing specific activities and accompaniment or by supporting significant people in the environment;
  • Determine and prioritize rehabilitation and maintenance objectives in a collaborative approach;
  • Deploy individual or group interventions to restore and develop the persons adaptive capacities;
  • Contribute to the development of environmental conditions in order to promote optimal adaptation of the individual in interaction with his/her environment;
  • Evaluate the results and effectiveness of the intervention plan by comparing the clients situation with the measures taken at the beginning of the intervention;
  • Conduct assessments in order to consolidate achievements, revise the intervention plan or close an episode of services;
  • Prepare a follow-up plan to ensure continuity following the termination of services;
  • Refer individuals to resources and/or follow-up intensities that are more appropriate for their needs (e.g. emergency room in case of suicidal risk);
  • Act as a resource person in your field of expertise for your colleagues on the multidisciplinary team;
  • Participate in the supervision of psychoeducation trainees and the orientation of new staff;
  • Participate in the development and continuous improvement of the care and service offer;
  • Keep abreast of the development of knowledge to ensure the maintenance and development of your skills;

Requirements :
  • Masters degree in psycho-education or a degree deemed equivalent by a competent authority
  • Be registered on the Roll of the Ordre des psychoéducateurs et psychoéducatrices du Québec;
  • Be able to establish a relationship with a French and English-speaking clientele;
  • Experience with adult clients is an asset;
  • Experience in the field of mental health, an asset;
  • Be available for a day job, including one day from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
