Are available :

  • Two (2) full-time positions at CLSC Lac-Saint-Louis;
  • One (1) full-time position at CLSC Pierrefonds;
  • One (1) part-time position at CLSC Pierrefonds;
  • Other psychologist employments of indeterminate term;
The psychologists sought will be part of the multidisciplinary team of the first line of care and services in mental health. In this context, their role will consist mainly of acting as clinicians. They will also be consulted on an ad hoc basis as expert advisors by the team responsible for the pre-analysis, orientation and prioritization of requests from the GASMA (Adult Mental Health Access Centre) as well as by the other professionals on the team.The Fisrt-Line Adult Mental Health Services receive requests for treatment for an adult population experiencing a variety of mental health problems (mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, etc.). We offer short to medium term follow-ups either individually or in groups. The psychologist is an integral part of a multidisciplinary team and receives support from a psychiatrist and a clinical supervisor. Our interventions are client-centered with a focus on continuous quality improvement. As a psychologist, you would be called upon to contribute to the implementation of best practices according to the needs of the clientele.As a front-line clinical psychologist, you will be called upon to :
  • Conduct structured clinical assessments and standardized tools;
  • Screen for certain risk factors (e.g., suicide and violence risk);
  • Determine and prioritize rehabilitation and maintenance objectives for the individual;
  • Design, based on the identified objectives and priorities, the steps of a psychological intervention plan;
  • Define the nature of the interventions and treatments to be drawn from the CLSCs care and service offer;
  • Deploy brief psychological interventions (motivational interviewing, self-management counselling, behavioural activation, problem-solving support, cognitive-behavioural therapy, solution-focused therapy, etc.) aimed at specific targets for people with mild to moderate (or severe and persistent but stabilized) disorders;
  • Evaluate the results and effectiveness of the intervention plan by comparing the clients psychological state and functioning with the measures taken at the beginning of the intervention;
  • Conduct assessments in order to consolidate gains, revise the intervention plan or close an episode of services;
  • Prepare a psychological follow-up plan to ensure that services are maintained after the end of the intervention;
  • Refer individuals to resources and/or follow-up intensities that are more appropriate for their needs (e.g. emergency room in case of suicidal risk).
  • Act as a resource person in their field of expertise for their colleagues on the multidisciplinary team;
  • Participate in the supervision of psychology trainees and the orientation of new staff;
  • Participate in the development and continuous improvement of the care and service offer;
  • Stay on top of the development of knowledge in your field of expertise and ensure the maintenance and development of your skills;

Requirements :
  • Hold a masters or doctoral degree in psychology or a degree deemed equivalent by a competent authority;
  • Be registered as a psychologist on the Roll of the Ordre professionnel des psychologues du Québec;
  • Be able to establish a therapeutic relationship with a French and English-speaking clientele;
  • Have one (1) year of experience in mental health;
  • Be available for a day job, including one day from 12:00 to 20:00.
